Keeping Everyone Safe in School

All schools now have the responsibility to ensure they provide training for all staff and volunteers, in order to keep everyone safe in schools.

This is called SAFEGUARDING training. Once our volunteers are introduced to a school, they will probably be notified when the next training session will take place.

This is usually one training session, after which volunteers will receive their Level One certificate.

The person in charge of Safeguarding in a school is the DESIGNATED SAFEGUARDING LEAD, known as the DSL. Her/ his responsibility is to make school a safe place for everyone.
