Knitting for Babies

Intergen volunteers & friends have been knitting bright & cheery vest for babies in Bosnia.

The baby clothes are being transported by Rod Howat, from the OUT OF THE ASHES Aid Organization in his extended Landrover. Rod lives in Bosnia, making the often horrific journey twice a year to the UK, travelling through Belgium, Germany, Austria, Slovenia & Croatia before finally arriving back in Bosnia.

Rod says that although at first sight Bosnia is so much improved since he first went there in 1996. Nevertheless, unfortunately against this slow improvement is the other side of the coin, which is almost like chapters from a Charles Dickens book, deep dark miserable poverty!

A HUGE THANKS TO ALL INTERGEN TRAFFORD VOLUNTEERS FROM BELINDA CRICHLOW OUR QUAKER CONTACT WHO IS PASSING THEM ONTO ROD.
